Microsoft Airband partners with AirJaldi to connect rural India

Access to broadband means access to opportunity. Microsoft’s Airband team supports AirJaldi’s efforts to provide meaningful connectivity across India

The Microsoft Airband Initiativ e advances digital equity—access to affordable internet, affordable devices, and digital skills—as a platform for empowerment and digital transformation across the world.

AirJaldi began partnering with the Microsoft Airband initiative in 2016 , when it received a grant to expand its work bringing internet access to more people in India, primarily in underserved rural areas. Our joint work has grown since and encompasses joint effrots to expand the reach and offerings of AirJaldi’s netwroks throughout India.

In addition to connectivity, the AirJaldi and Airband teams are cooperating on developing suitable offerings to rural areas in areas of women empowerment, economic development, IoT for rural areas and introduction of technological soluitons to rural internet operations.
