Meet Shivani Verma, an independent young woman who is using AirJaldi’s internet connection to help people access banking services in remote areas of Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. Despite the lack of network coverage in this area, Shivani has set up AirJaldi’s Wi-Fi network in her home to connect to the internet. She uses her mobile phone and other devices to conduct transactions and provide assistance to around 30-40 people every day. Shivani explains that she has installed our Wi-Fi antenna on her roof for internet access and uses WhatsApp voice calling for communication since regular calling is not possible in her region. With the help of WhatsApp calling, she is able to communicate with her clients and help them with transactions ranging from 50,000 to 1 lakh rupees per day. Shivani also assists people with pension and housing schemes, as well as cash transfers for those working under the government’s rural employment schemes.
We applaud Shivani’s determination and perseverance in utilizing technology to make banking facilities accessible to those people who would otherwise have to travel long distances to access these services. Thank you for choosing AirJaldi.
